The Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a sumptuous forested reserve, a rare tropical forest that is home to a realm of unique plants, birds and animals & the sacred preserve of hikers and walkers. These forests are remarkably unspoiled, a wilderness of extremely beautiful woodland routes – with no driving tracks at all, brings walkers to the spectacular 170 m drop of Sanje Waterfalls.
The park is a home of an important population of primates (10 species- more than in any of Tanzania’s other parks), as well as the grey, faced sengi. Mikumi’s landscape provides a calm wildlife experience, commonly seen animals lions Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Antelope, Wildebeest, Eland, Crocodile and Hippo.
